Extended School Year Related Service Providers

DEFINITION:
The Extended Year Program Related Service Provider is an employee member of the
school staff designated by the Superintendent of Schools. The purpose of this position
is to assist the Director of Special Education and Principals in all duties necessary for
the proper and efficient operation of the Woburn Public Schools Extended School Year
Program. Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, the Special
Education Related Service Provider will provide related services in the district extended
school year program.


PREREQUISITE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
a. Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
b. Minimum: Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
certification as necessary per related field (eg SLP/OTR/PT/BCBA/Social
Worker/School Psychologist/School Adjustment Counselor/Reading
Specialist/Registered Nurse)

 

SALARY:
$38/hour

 

WORKING TIME:
The Extended School Year Related Service Provider will be required to work 16 extended school days, at the discretion of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, or Director of Special Education. The length of the workday will be 3.5 hours, including 3 hours of instructional time and .5 hours of preparation time per day. An additional 3 hours or preparation time in the beginning of the program and 3 hours of preparation at the end of the program will be given to positions requiring scheduling, classroom set up, and writing summary notes. The 2025 Extended School Year will run Monday through Thursday from July 7, 2024 to July 31, 2025. Attendance for all 16 days of the ESY program is mandatory.

 

DUTIES:
The Extended School Year Related Service Provider shall:
1. Attend an orientation meeting prior to the start of ESY in June 2025

2. Review therapy roster; send personalized letter providing contact information and therapy schedule prior to the start of ESY
3. Review folder for each ESY student including IEP, Progress Reports, Behavior Plans, and Work Samples Prior to the start of ESY.
4. Take session attendance and provide daily communication with families as necessary for the duration of the ESY program
5. Review IEP and verify each student’s ESY therapy schedule is compliant
6. Prepare session/therapy plans in conjunction with individualized student IEP goals at the start of each week
7. Provide comprehensive instruction/therapy individualized to the needs of each student
8. Provide consultation as necessary to ESY Staff
9. Collect data in conjunction with student IEP goals
10. Compile data and prepare ESY summary notes due on July 31, 2025
11. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendents and/or the Director of Special Education
